I often express my irritation and outrage at brands and companies who don’t proofread the content they send out into the public domain – whether it’s a street pole ad or a social media post.
And the pushback I get very often, is, “It doesn’t matter. People will know what we mean.”
So instead of pointing out why I think the three examples below do great damage to their brands, I’m just going to ask three questions:
- What do they say about each brand’s quality control?
- What do they say about each brand’s attention to detail?
- What do they say about each brand’s attitude if this doesn’t matter to them?
If you’re still not convinced, consider: what would it cost to re-print the examples from King Shaka Airport and tAldi? It’s not just about brand damage – it can negatively affect your business financially too.
(And let me know if you don’t see the errors – we may need to talk.)
