I'll help you find the right words

Y gramer nd speling mattres to you’re brands reputasion

I often express my irritation and outrage at brands and companies who don’t proofread the content they send out into the public domain – whether it’s a street pole ad or a social media post.

And the pushback I get very often, is, “It doesn’t matter. People will know what we mean.”

So instead of pointing out why I think the three examples below do great damage to their brands, I’m just going to ask three questions:

  1. What do they say about each brand’s quality control?
  2. What do they say about each brand’s attention to detail?
  3. What do they say about each brand’s attitude if this doesn’t matter to them?

Example 1: At ACSA’s King Shaka airport, kindly sent to me by someone on Twitter.

Example 2: By a bookseller, no less.
Example 3: From UK retailer, Aldi.

If you’re still not convinced, consider: what would it cost to re-print the examples from King Shaka Airport and tAldi? It’s not just about brand damage – it can negatively affect your business financially too.

(And let me know if you don’t see the errors – we may need to talk.)
